Rash & Skin Infection Assessment
Rash & Skin Infection Assessment is designed for those sudden changes in your skin that leave you worried, uncomfortable, or unsure if you need antibiotics. Instead of waiting in a crowded urgent care, you connect with us by video, share photos of the affected area, and receive a clear plan.
We start by asking when the rash or lesion appeared, how it has changed, what it feels like-itchy, burning, painful-and whether you have fever, drainage, or spreading redness. We also review recent exposures, such as new medications, soaps, plants, pets, travel, or bug bites, along with any history of eczema, allergies, diabetes, or immune issues that might affect healing. With those details and your uploaded images, we distinguish between likely allergic or irritant rashes, infections such as cellulitis or impetigo, and other common patterns. If we suspect an uncomplicated skin infection that can be safely treated online, we move into Skin Infection Treatment right away: prescribing appropriate topical or oral medications, outlining how to care for the area at home, and explaining warning signs that mean you should seek in‑person or emergency care.
For non‑infectious rashes, we focus on calming the skin, choosing the right strength of steroid or non‑steroid creams when indicated, and adjusting personal care products that may be fueling the problem. You leave the visit knowing exactly what to apply, how often, and what to avoid.
Because skin can change quickly, we also talk about when a follow‑up telehealth check is useful to be sure the rash or infection is moving in the right direction. Our aim is to ease discomfort promptly, protect your skin, and reduce the worry that comes from not knowing what you are looking at in the mirror.
