FMLA Eligibility Consultation

FMLA Eligibility Consultation is a focused telehealth visit for employees who are not sure whether their health situation meets Family and Medical Leave Act criteria. Instead of guessing or relying on second‑hand advice, you speak directly with a clinician who understands both the medical and practical sides of leave.

In this visit, we review your symptoms, diagnoses, current treatment, and how your condition is affecting your ability to do your job safely and consistently. We also talk about patterns-how often you have flare‑ups, hospitalizations, or appointments-and whether your provider visits, medication changes, or upcoming procedures may require time away. We then walk you through the basics of FMLA from a medical standpoint: what types of conditions often qualify, how "serious health condition" is typically interpreted, and the difference between continuous and intermittent leave. We cannot replace legal advice, but we can give you a clear picture of whether your medical history appears consistent with what employers commonly recognize under FMLA.

If it looks like you may be eligible, we outline next steps: how to request paperwork from your employer, what documentation you may need from us, and realistic timelines for certification completion. If your situation does not fit FMLA, we discuss other options we can support, such as work restrictions, shorter medical notes, or treatment plans aimed at stabilizing your health so you can remain at work more comfortably.

By the end of the appointment, you have a grounded, medically informed sense of where you stand, plus a plan for what to do next, instead of trying to navigate complex leave rules alone while not feeling well.
